Roy L. Patterson: Board Member Pastor/Departmental Leader Elder Roy L. Patterson received his Bachelors of Arts Degree from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and later his Masters of Divinity Degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He began his professional career as a church school teacher at Ramah Junior Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. At the same time, he served as Assistant Pastor at the Bethel SDA Church in Cleveland. Elder Patterson has served as a pastor in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. He built the Shiloh SDA Church in Greenwood, Mississippi and rebuilt the historic Bethany SDA Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He has helped start a total of 8 new churches. Elder Patterson is a worldwide Evangelist. In 1989, he conducted evangelistic meetings in Aba, Nigeria where over 200 souls were won to Christ. In 2002, he made the first of seven mission trips to the Muslim country of Pakistan. He has preached the gospel in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, Pakistan. He has conducted Revelation Seminars, Pastor training workshops, denominational and interdenominational evangelistic meetings, as well. He has done mission work in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ra’s al Khaymah in the United Arab Emirates. Elder Patterson presently serves as Sabbath School, Personal Ministries, and Prison Ministries Director for South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventist in Nashville, TN. He has served on the board of the 1000 Mission Movement and served as a member of the South Central Conference Committee for 11 years.
